• Ozzy/Sabbath Back to the Beginning

From Digital Man@VERT to All on Wed Jul 16 23:32:27 2025
What'd you think of the show, supposedly Ozzy's last performance?

I thought it was pretty epic myself and have huge respect for all the performers, but especially the original Sabbath members still bringing it at their age. It'd would've been nice if the original Blizzard of Ozz band would've been fully represented as well (obviously without Randy Rhoads), but Sharon is still truly evil. :-)

I have the PPV video if you need it... let me know.

I didn't hear if Jake E. Lee was there, speaking of Evil Sharon. Looking
on the web, he was there. Good to know. He was instrumental in Ozzy's post-Rhoads albums and cheated out of writing credits (then summarily
    fired) after the last one.

After that, he formed Badlands - their debut album is one of my
favorites, and Ray Gillen's voice combined with Jake E. Lee's guitar
    work was incredible.

Fun fact: Back in 1993 I think it was, I sent an audition video tape to Ozzy when he was looking for a drummer. Got a nice rejection letter for my effort.
I think that's when he hired Mike Bordin (of Faith No More).

Just one?! There were at least four or five here. Plus other -fests he showed up to. I went to all of them! Tried keeping the tickets over the years, but they've gotten lost in random junk boxes etc :/.

This may've been said here before, but it was amazing seeing him play a long, almost 2 hour set with his own band, and then ANOTHER long 2 hour set with Black Sabbath! Running back and forth the entire time. And I thought he was old /then/. Sheesh.

I thought Ozzy sounded great on the PPV live stream... the fan-posted phone captures, no so much.

Supposedly, the "live" stream (that was 2 hours delayed from the actual performance) had Ozzy's voice pitch-corrected:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZPmSpWOxRc

But I think those that were there in person loved it anyway.
